Links and data that
might
be useful for the preparation of the Gaza Freedom March
at the end of
the year 2009
There is plenty of
information on Gaza available.
Some of the references and data listed below may not be so well known.

Maps
UNOSAT-Maps
of the Gaza Strip
Among these is one set of 5 maps "Damage(d)
Assessment Overview For Gaza Strip", showing the locations of
destroyed buildings etc..
These maps show the different sections of Gaza with different scales. I
used these maps for one continuous map of the Gaza strip (as jpg,
can be
printed on 5 pages from pdf
- file). In part it does not have quite the
resolution of the original maps.
These maps may be good for general orientation.
A satellite view of Gaza
(jpg, 28 MB),
patched together from Google Earth
images. Names of locations and roads were added, as taken from the
UNOSAT-maps. This map is too big to be printed
full scale.
Graphs
In the meantime it is general knowledge that operation
"Cast Lead"
actually started on Nov. 4, 2008. See Graphs
showing the killing rate in Gaza and the rate of rockets coming out of
Gaza during the year 2008 up until Dec. 26.
